Inner Child Healing - Curiosity and Play

The same answer for every question lately - “Curiosity.”

It’s no secret that depression serves as a constant player in my life game, sometimes disappearing for long blocks of time, or waiting just below the surface with little bubbles that infiltrate my mind. Other times it floods in full force, and becomes a challenge to navigate.

These past few months my physical health has been flaring up. Summer means outdoor events, and with it concentrated exposure for long periods of time to lawn chemicals. My body went into a flare, and I struggled to be heard by my doctor. I am still working through the after-effects of all this and what ensued after. And, as it usually does, the situation affects my mental health as well.

I am also on a medication (temporarily) that is literally affecting my mental state negatively. As I try to taper off a pill that I knew deep down I should never have started I find myself really working hard to push through layers of fog and mental debris.

Sitting with my Higher Self, I searched for answers on how push through this. I received a message that I keep getting over and over. “Curiosity.” My Inner Child is struggling to be seen and heard, and has not taken the lead in quite some time. When I approach life, creative expression and my struggles through a lens of curiosity (as opposed to resistance or overly analytical) that is when I start to bring in more joy

When I am feeling uninspired or low, I am encouraged to enter a state of play. To play, to be curious, to see what comes of my explorations.

Sometimes, it is really a struggle to even get into a place of playfulness. But, when I do, the result is healing and uplifting.

Recently I had wanted to spill my crystals over some artwork and just play. Nothing serious, nothing detailed or thought-provoking. Just colors on paper and crystals. Oh, and some colorful beads.

I sat on the floor of my studio and poured out what rested inside. The latent energy of a very frustrated Inner Child.  As I experimented with different colors and brushstrokes, I began to feel more in my joy, more in my power. The little voice inside teemed with excitement and an energy of fun. I poured a mason jar of Amazonite crystals onto the page and moved them around as I felt inspired. I broke open colorful strands of beads. Just like our healing journeys, this is meant to be messy. The mess and what happens outside the lines are where so much of the magic lives.

This healing art and crystal grid is infused with energy healing for the Inner Child. You may use this grid to receive the energetic healing as needed.

Sometimes, when we are stuck or at a crossroads, this approach can help us move forward.

Remember to be curious, to be playful.

To question, experiment and explore!

And if you are feeling too low to even move, that is okay, too. Honor where you are at and as hard as it may be, accept where you are in this moment.

As I have said many times before, through my own Dark Night struggles and relationship with my Higher Self, this is temporary!  How you are feeling will pass. This is not your new normal. You will be okay.

So, play as much as you can!
